Next Up Academy is a ground-breaking project that infuses elements of hip-hop and grime with theatre.

Next Up Academy at Wales Millennium Centre is a collaborative project in partnership with Fio working with professional emcees, DJs, artistic directors, breakdancers, graffiti artists, and scriptwriters to produce a performance piece exploring issues that are important to young people.

Over the course of 21 sessions, young people will have the opportunity to engage in masterclasses with the different practitioners to elevate their skills within different art forms associated with hip-hop and grime culture culminating in a performance in our Weston Studio at Wales Millennium Centre on 5 April 2024.
